Snake-Haired Medusa Head Ring is a gift from you to yourself!
The first story of Medusa is in Greek mythology, where she was one of three sisters who were known as the Gorgons. She is a cursed being with snakes for hair and the ability to turn people into stone.
The Gorgon Who Transformed Into Stone for Painful Injustice
The original story of the Gorgon is a myth that was created by the ancient Greeks. It tells of the confrontation between Medusa and Perseus, a demigod.
In this myth, Poseidon, Athena’s husband, fell in love with Medusa, who lived in Athena’s temple but at that time it was considered a despicable act to fall in love with a mortal, so he could not share it with anyone. Medusa was raped by Poseidon in that temple. She could not tell anyone anything and tried to spend her days in pain.
Athena, who soon found out about the situation, punished only Medusa, while she was supposed to punish Poseidon. Cursing Medusa, she turned her beautiful golden hair into snakes, as we see in the Snake-Haired Medusa Ring, and turned her face into an unspeakable ugliness. So much so that, in order to prevent anyone who is not content with this and can look at her despite her condition, she has made everyone who looks into Medusa’s eyes turn into stone.
Medusa has locked herself in dark caves, away from everyone. Because of her curse, she has no friends, and besides, she can not even communicate with any animals and look at them.
Not content with this terrible curse, Athena asked her half-brother Perseus for help and told him to kill Medusa. Perseus somehow managed to cut off the head of the mortal Medusa. But what they did not know was that Medusa was pregnant with Poseidon, and two children were born just at the time of her death.
The story of Medusa is as old as time itself. It is a story about the power of women and their ability to take control of their lives.
In some cultures it represented female empowerment while in others it represented male domination over women.
In art, Medusa’s head is often depicted as a snake or as a woman with snakes for hair. In literature, there are various depictions of Medusa. These depictions are used to symbolize different things such as fear, female power, and beauty.
For example, the statue of a woman with snakes in her hair is a part of the exhibition “A Day in Pompeii” at the British Museum. The statue is made out of bronze and was found in Pompeii, Italy. It was discovered in 1748 and its origins are unknown.
The statue is very unusual because it shows a woman with snakes coiling around her head, which is not something you see often. The museum curators describe the appearance of the statue as “monstrous” because it does not have any features that would make it seem human-like or make it look like an icon for fertility or anything else that might be expected for such a sculpture. It also has no inscription on it to tell us who made it or what its purpose might have been.
In conclusion, we can learn that Medusa was a powerful Gorgon who was punished by Athena for her vanity. She was turned into a hideous monster and made to stand guard at the gates of the Underworld to frighten mortals.
Snake-Haired Medusa Head Ring, From Past To Present
A medusa ring was an important part of ancient jewelry, just like our design the Snake-Haired Medusa Head Ring. It was first seen in the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations, but was later popularized by the Italian jewelry designer Salvatore Ferragamo in the 1920s. The Greeks associated the snake hair with the goddess Medusa, who was said to turn people into stone if they looked at her directly. This association led to the use of the medusa head as a talisman for protection against evil and curses.
In Victorian times, women wore medusa rings to indicate their marital status or their engagement status. These days, many people wear them as a fashion statement or for their aesthetic value like Snake-Haired Medusa Head Ring.
